ABOUT US

OUR STORY

Dr. Hoskin was drawn to work with hispanic families while in Optometry school when he partnered with Lion’s Club International and Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) to provide free eye exams and glasses to families in rural areas of Costa Rica.

While volunteering his time on multiple mission trips, he had the opportunity not only to help families in need but live in their homes and experience their culture.

After completing his training, he continued to serve in the Lakota Sioux territories of North Dakota in conjunction with the Gift of Sight program.

In 2004, he chose to convert his passion for service into a lifelong career in service to the the Hispanic community. Plaza Fiesta, once described by the AJC as “...ground zero for a cultural revolution...” ,was a perfect fit.
